Hello from the Lammermuirs!

Hi all - I live on a grouse moor in the beautiful Lammermuir Hills in Scotland - my husband is head shepherd on the estate. I have always been interested in British Wildlife - especially mammals, and am becoming more and more interested in raptors since living in my current home and seeing different BOP on a regular basis.

I try to get up to the NW Highlands on a regular basis to walk, as well as wildlife spot - and I have never been disappointed on either counts. With a bit of luck and planning, I hope to move the family to Ardnamurchan some time in the future.

My other interests include dogs (we have sheepdogs and German shepherds), photography and reading.

The only small problem I have with the forum is that I only seem to be able to view it when I have access to broadband (I am at my sister's house in North Lancashire at the moment for a visit). Our home is in a rural/remote location and we don't have access to broadband (or even a mobile phone signal!) so unfortunately am on dial up. Does anyone know why this forum won't load on dial up? I will be most disappointed if I can't get on again when I get home.

Hi Kirsty, welcome to WAB.

A quick search suggests that other dial-up users have not had problems. E.g.:

Is WAB the only site you have had trouble with?

The problem I have at home is that the whole site won't come up for me - I haven't even tried to upload any pics yet! Does anyone else have problems with the site loading?

BTW on the site issue, I'm on broadband, and there are occasions when my navigations round the forums/galleries time out.

A warm welcome from yet another Scot, Now living in the garden of England,
in Kent,
I'm from Fife origonally, and worked on a hill farm for a number of years,
Loved the shearing , the only time my hands had no hacks, and my jeans could stand up by themselves

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome. I seem to have resolved the problem of the site not loading ... I just had to turn off the package that supposedly speeds up my dial up!
