Source - AOL (link did not work) Police are searching for a snake that has escaped from its tank and is thought to be on the loose in a small town in Derbyshire.
The seven feet-long boa constrictor, which kills its prey by wrapping itself around it until it suffocates, was reported missing from a house in the Burrows area of Newhall, near Swadlincote.
Police said the giant reptile was not poisonous but warned members of the public not to approach it.
A spokeswoman for Derbyshire Police said: "Experts have warned that the hot weather may make the snake anxious and agitated. Anyone who sees it should call police straight away.''
