| | fishing isle of skye hi i`m fishing on the isle of skye end of the month staying in a cottage for a week been there about 5years in a row now but i`m going a bit later this year , usually fish neist point with really great results far better than the south coast and wales area `saying that we almost beet the welsh tope record in may this year with a write up in sea angler last month unfortunately the missus couldnt get the time off for a fishing trip any sooner , so anybody know if the mackeral are still on skye and where to try some beech fishing? / i`m taking my fly rod this year try for some macky`s bit more fun \\

There may be a few Mackerel left but it's getting a bit late in the season and we have not had the best of summers but if your taking the fly rod you may get a chance at some Sea-trout. Good Luck and enjoy your holiday. At least the midges won't be around

I started a thread on the 'Bushcraft and Field Sports' section on this very subject. Have a shufty at that. I sadly didn't make it to Neist Point (it was in mid-August), but fished with lures almost every evening from the stone jetty at Staffin. It wasn't brilliant, but I did get a two pound Pollack. There was a bloke there who took fishermen out and he returned with a stack of Mackerel most evenings. At this time of year I'd say there will still be plenty of them about as sea temperatures will still be fairly high.
