My Oh My what a warm friendly bunch wonderful welcome....i thought being a newbie i may get say one post from some one saying hello back

i wonder if its time to confess...i am an invader from the other side of hadrians wall residing on the scottish side or does that blow my camoflauge lol

the name came by way of a scrabble board a glass of wine..many moons ago and another life!.

and i wanna read a few of the threads may look like i hibernated....but i am there lurking lol
i sure will be picking brains as i want to use the land i have to encourage wildlife and give a haven to some of it....lolol notice i say haven to some.....the wild long tails and short tails ( rats mice are extrmely low on my agenda lol...yah i know some one has to love them but just not me in my country life style...

Cathy's originally from Creetown, a small village between Newton Stewart & Gatehouse-of-Fleet, just on the side of the Solway. I don't know if you're familiar with the area, but it's a very scenic spot and always full of wildlife. Every winter the saltmarshes attract flocks of barnacle, pink-footed geese, waders and shelducks with scoter, Slav Grebes and divers offshore. There's even been a few otters and seals!

In the spring the woods are full of wild garlic and bluebells, with whinchats, stonechats, ravens, various warblers & flycatchers, peregrines and even the occasional hen harrier & black grouse up on the moors.

Not sure what part of Galloway you call home, but I'll look forward to comparing notes!

Hi derek..yes i know creetown...as they say up here..."we stay"...at collin between annan and dumfries..which is about an hour away

we are quite fortunate that the village has still got the old road ( now a dead end) with a wonderful well tred walkway..or you can go if brave off into the wood

one of the best sights we are some times priveledged to see is the resident stag and a few of his ladies out standing on the old tarmac surface in the early morning...we have heard him calling his ladies...in the still of the night
he is a wiley blighter...wait with a camera...and they do not come...be out there with out it and bobs ya uncle up he comes! proving never work with wildlife lol

oh and we have some wonderful sightings of buzzards just perched on the road side trees

yes sir!! .....it sure abounds with wildlife up here....and this site means i can look up what i take pictures of..

today the budleia had another flutterby drop in......so i am off to try and identify it.

i just wanted too ask anyone who can assist me..because i want to be active and use the site to get my knowledge up and also so i do not make a mistake....i can post pictures in the section...my Gallery...that i have taken with my camera ?.....but if i have an identification request i must post the picture in the appropriate section on i/d request..and if any one knows they say so....does it matter if the picture is of something allready done and asked that i cannot find the answer for....

like i keep coming back to this thread....i opened to say hello to every one...i am not even sure i am doing that the right way lol...but its working for me..and i do not feel scared to come here and ask.

i have i think correctly...added a picture to my profile of the most magical man in my life lol.....he ranks above hubby..... so hubby says.lol
can some one let me know if its there....i am not able to see it..so am wondering if i did right...yah 23 fingers no brain lol
