I can remember a time when that all functioned as a working woodland, now it's been sadly raped of 300 years of cultivation. I am glad the Woodland Trust have taken over at least the section of the wood that abuts onto the common. I was there last year, a sorry mess the woods have fallen into over the last 10 or so years.
