Hello from Nth Lincs

Hi Everyone from a sunny Nth Lincs.

I've been a keen nature observer for many years and now that I'm retired I can devote a bit more time to it (but don't tell HiD !!!).

Since retiring I've got more into nature photography and have gone digital. No lugging round the heavy old gear. I now use a Konica-Minolta Z3. Wish I'd saved a few more pennies and bought something like the Canon EOS350. C'est la vie.

I found this excellent site by accident whilst trying to ID a couple of things. Hopefully now I have a "one stop shop" to got to has it looks like you have many experts, in all fields, to help us ignoramouses.

Welcome Tormentil. Pleased to hear you like the site, which is improving all the time with behind the scenes work and up-front member input. Look forward to hearing your observations and maybe seeing some of your pics in the future.

Tink

Hi Tormentil, a warm welcome to WAB from me. I'm also from Lincolnshire, there are quite a few of us on here. Maybe our paths will cross some time. Enjoy the site and I look forward to any more posts you may make

Re: Hello from Nth Lincs

Thank you all for your warm welcomes. I feel cosy amongst you already.

For those from Nth Lincs, I've probably bumped into you at my local reserve, Messingham Sand Quarry, or maybe Far Ings at Barton.

Thanks again for the welcomes.

Messingham and Far Ings are my local patches which I visit quite often. I'm about six foot tall with a beard, and usually carrying a tripod with a big lens attached, introduce youself if you ever see me. I talk to most folk that I meet there.

Hello Tormentil

A warm welcome to WAB. You have definitely found your "one stop shop" here.

I look forward to seeing some of those photos up in the gallery.

Richard

Thankyou.

Its matter of copying and resizing some of them Richard, to fit WABs criteria, as I tend to leave them pretty huge on my site.

Re: Hello from Nth Lincs

Hi Tormentil, We seem to have a lot in common, I'm also new here, retired, visit Far Ings, but not Messingham as yet.

Will have to pay it a visit.

I'm down at Sutton On Sea.

Harry
