| | | Re: raining Yep - I actually can't think of a good side. I have a pumpkin for once - I try them every year, and this year is the best. But it may just be that I tried a new variety and water retentive compost. Anyone else found something good about the seemingly constant wind and rain? |

| | | Re: raining Grapes, Melons and Pumpkins, up here in Scotland those are exotics . I think we invented rain, it's been the wettest summer that I can remember and I have a good memory.

| | | Re: raining You're so lucky Shei that the weather has been okay where you are! Up here it's been abysmal, the rain will just not stop! Yes, the nights are fairly drawing in now, I hate it. Can't use my bat detector 'cos even the bats hate the rain!

The weather has been so bad for bats Tracey that we had one flying and hunting from late morning way into the afternoon. There is now two at it - hunting. Brilliant to watch in daylight.

| | | Re: raining Shame really 'cos if they can't feed at night, because of the rain, then I suppose they are forced to hunt during the day. Good to watch though! I've seen day flying bats at Vane Farm on three occasions, all pips. I've discovered bats in some of my nest boxes. which is just so exciting, but as soon as I find one I have to back off straight away, so they're not disturbed. Love bats
