Hello im pretty pleased with the amount of bees ive got round the garden there very much into the buddleias, laveteras, sweet peas, and the lavender, I did put up a bee box . im short of butterflies only see a few whites about, also which is not a bad thing only seen a couple of wasps so far this year. shei

I have beeen worried too bees have picked up over last week as weather improoved but, butterfliies, only whites and speckled woods in garden. No peacocks or commas yet and I have had hummingbird hawk moths visiting over last summers no sign of them either.

Lots of bees up here, I think they have drove the butterflies off though.

Hello I'm new to the group

We've had quite a few bees and buttereflies here. I live in Cambs. Yet a friend 6-7 miles away has had hardly any.

I bought myself a bee box this year, they need whatever help we can give them.

Hi everyone -

Down where I live (Reading) there seems to be plenty of bumblebees and solitary bees around, even now that the weather's turned a bit grey & showery. The lavender hedge normally has good number of bees feeding. Like Shei, I've also put up a small bee-box and some of the bamboo tubes have now got little green plugs of chewed up leaves at the end, which presumably means that I've a few lodgers in my hotel at last!

What do seem to be struggling are the moths - we usually get quite a few visiting our buddleia at dusk, and things like Large Yellow Underwing coming to the porch lights. This year I've hardly seen any.

Yes Ron think that may happened down here, ive only seen a couple of whites aday , nothing coloured at all , loads of bees , no ladybirds either well not yet this summer, ive got loads of ants on every path you could think of they are churning up the soil in to heaps. shei
