| | | Hi All Hi,
My name is Steve and I'm from East Sussex in the UK. I'm terrible with introductions so I'll keep it short and to the point. By day I'm an IT Administrator for a medium sized manufacturing company. My role is pretty diverse and I deal with front end user support, server maintenance, database and application development and pretty much anything else considered IT.
Out of work I'm developing myself as an amateur photographer. It's photography that's brought me to this site. My main photographic interests are motorsports, landscape and architecture but I'm still enjoying trying new areas as I get the chance. One of the new areas I've recently started getting into has been wildlife photography. I'm lucky to have some nearby places where I can try my hand at this discipline. This has led to me finding an interest in the birds and wildlife that I'm discovering.
My knowledge of the various species and is not great but I'm ready to learn. Hopefully this site will help me with that.
Well, not exactly a short intro in the end. I look forward to meeting you all.
Cheers,
Steve |

| | | Re: Hi All Welcome to WAB, Steve - I'm sure you will soon get bitten by the bug here (not literally, I hope!) – I look forward to seeing some of your wildlife pics.
And there are a whole bunch of knowledgeable people here, ready and waiting to identify anything you find out there!

I can see me getting addicted to both the wildlife photography and this site. It seems like a great resource with some helpful and knowledgable members.

| | | Re: Hi All Wow! Thanks for all the other warm welcomes.
I'm floundering a little at the moment and trying to find my place within the forums. My wildlife knowledge is lacking so I can't offer much there. I'll continue to reads the threads and comment where possible. It certainly seems like a friendly, well run and popular site.
I've looked at the gallery section and I'm interested in posting there. A couple of questions if I may...
I see that by posting I grant royality free rights to the image on the site. Can an admin person / mod confirm that by posting I'm only granting rights to this website and not for any other site / purpose (i.e. print / resale). Apologies for sounding stuck up but unfortunately with the internet and digital images I find you have to be very careful in protecting your photographs.
Secondly is there any rule on submitting a shot with a minor border and my small copyright text to the gallery? Again this is down to image management and copyright reasons. I use an automated action to frame and tag all images for the web to offer me a little protection from image theft.
Cheers,
Steve |

Steve | I can confirm the only rights we have is to show them connected with the web site. All other rights are held with the photographer. Also don't forget the resolution you upload are nowhere near good enough to print!
If you look in the Gallery you will see that quite a few show copyright marks and are perfectly acceptable.
For the full details have a look at: http://www.wildaboutbritain.co.uk/fo...ad_information
Which explains everything clearly, there is is also a link for the full terms and conditions.
Graham.

Kev - Good to meet another East Sussex person. Can you recommend any good East Sussex spots for nature photography? I've already got Rye Harbour marked thanks to a thread on this site. :-)
Cheers,
Steve
