Hi and welcome to WAB. There are plenty of good DSLR cameras in your price range, it's the decent lenses for taking wildlife shots that can be expensive. Check the photography section for hints and tips.

Hi from me too. See you re-posted on the photo forum. Some good advice being given. Good luck with your new purchase (p.s. I recommend a Canon DSLR like the 400D that you can get for just over £300 at the mo with cashback and then an additional telephoto lens like the Sigma 70-300 APO Macro for just over £100 for a great startup kit) |

I bought that with a canon 75-300mm lens as my only lens when I first embarked on my now near obsession
