Hello all you guys/galls out there! 
I'm new today and my area of speciality is Lepidoptera. I have also recently become interested in spiders and have found a lovely adult Steatoda nobilis locally 2 days ago. They are now widely distibuted all along the south coast of England. I have Steatoda grossa and S.nobilis  (babies) in my garden so gardening will be undertaken with a little more care than before!

Don't worry, they don't hunt people
Just give them the same respect you do for bees and wasps and you'll be fine, they only bite in self defense, though sometimes they are grumpy!
