| | | Hi, Greetings from Somerset! Hello everyone
Came upon this site by accident - It's fab! I really ought to go to bed, but I'm being lured in by all these interesting looking topics.
I've been interested in wildlife since little, and although I find wildlife from other countries interesting, I've always found the wildlife of Britain most fascinating (just as well really since I live here or maybe its because I live here!).
I'm lucky enough to live in a beautiful part of the world in the countryside near Chew Valley Lake in Somerset.
Looking forward to spending may happy hours here! |

Looking forward to spending may happy hours here! | Welcome to WAB lynne, you'll soon find that sleep is an optional extra compared to wabbing the night away - particluarly when its this darn hot

| | | Re: Hi, Greetings from Somerset! Pleased to see you like the WAB site lynne108 - one of the reasons for it's existence is that we realised there is a great deal of media attention towards world wildlife, but as indicated by our wonderful gallery, reference section etc. British wildlife has an equal amount of interesting things to offer if you care to look for them. And, the help offered by other members is so valuable when you've questions to ask or pics to identify.
Even the most 'insignificant' insect is amazing when photographed and magnified; and just turning over a stone in the garden you'll find bugs to watch.
I truly believe too, that being involved with WAB has certainly made me more observant and hopefully more caring towards 'all creatures - great and small'.
Welcome to new friends! Tink |

| | | Re: Hi, Greetings from Somerset! Hello I'm in Somerset too, and I just joined about 10 minutes ago .
My name is Gaina, I'm 33 and I found this site because I have some wild flowers in my gardent which I photographed and wanted to identify, and google gave me the photo gallery on here.
I am a big animal lover and keen photographer (though still firmly in the amateur camp! haha). I have a Canon Ixus 50 and will soon be getting an EOS 350D.
I look forward to getting to know everyone

Tink | Hello, thanks for the welcome .
I've discovered that one of the flowers is 'Horseshoe Vitch' and I'm about to look up the others now. I've spent this afternoon in my garden merrily snapping away at the different bits and bobs - it's amazing what you can find when you really open your eyes . I found some pretty cool bugs as well. |

Another newbie from Somerset signing in, this time on the West Somerset coast. I too found this site by accident - whilst researching the Grass Snake I managed to photograph helping itself to one of my goldfish.
What a fantastic site, it's even drawn me away from watching the world cup this evening!!
I am a big fan of UK wildlife, with such a variety on the doorstep, why leave my garden!!??
Looking forward to spending a few hours browsing the galleries............... is 4 hours sleep enough?
