| | | Hello, from Bolton Hello everyone, I stumbled on this great site whilst researching material on Great Crested Grebes. I've been filming a pair of these magnificent birds from mating and hopefully the hatching of the brood in a few days time. I'm filming in HDTV and the results so far are spectacular (even if I say so myself). The birds (and me) have had to tolerate heavy rain, hailstones and gales over the past 22 days.
The parents have been taking turns to incubate and feed themselves during this period. Can anyone confirm the incubation period for these birds I would like to be there as they hatch.
Look forward to submitting my final video story and some stills of the first days of the young birds as they hitch rides on their parents back to evade predators. |

I have the sony alpha 100 and alpha 700 cameras with sigma 75-300 APO lenss for stills work, and the sony FX1 HDV camera and VX2100 DV camera for videography. I edit video using canopus edius4. Working in video media also allows me to incorporate my high resolution stills than can be 'rostrum camera effect' so as to create an illusion of a moving image as well as for the usual titles and credit backgrounds.
Thanks to all who have welcomed me into the forum |
