| | | Hello from Bedfordshire Hi, I'm a newbie here, I stumbled across the site when I was googling Emberton Country Park.
We go to Emberton as many weekends as possible during the summer. They used do run pond dipping and mini beast safaris for the kids, but sadly MK Council stopped doing that a while ago.
Up until last year we had a guy who now works for Butterfly Conservation who used to set his moth traps & invite people to come along to see what he caught. The kids used to love it and it certailny helped to keep them occupied. It particularly helped get rid of mine & my daughter's fear of moths!
We're looking forward to the season starting at Emberton (it's been delayed because of a failure of the electricity to the water pump system). Before our Moth man left, he gave my son his own moth trap, so he can continue counting moths in Beds & Bucks.
Oh dear, did this get a bit long?
Anyway, glad I found this site, I have pictures of Lime Hawk moths which we watched emerging a few years back. Should I post pictures?
