Hello from Portsmouth

Hello all,

I have just joined this site. It seems to offer a lot in terms of range of topics covered.

I have recently got into Bird Photography but my interests are everything to do with the natural world.

I own two Olympus DSLRs, the E3 and E500. My current range of lenses are:
12-60mm, 28-55mm, 40-150mm and 70-300mm. I also use a 1.4 converter. Currently my 70-300 lens is faulty and I am awaiting a replacement from the manufacturer.

Re: Hello from Portsmouth

Thanks again for all the replies. I appreciate the welcomes. I am sure I shall enjoy my time here.

My favourite haunts are Broadmarsh and Southmoor near Havant, on the shores of Langstone Harbour. This area is rich in migratory birds, waders, herons, Egret, etc. I walk the coastline and across pasture land every day with my dog. Always lots to see and sometimes some surprises.

My big problem is that I am forced to use a 40-150mm kit lens with EC14 converter. Not enough reach and the lens is at 150mm all the time, not at its best performance focal length. Hope to get my 70-300 replacement sometime this week. I am also looking at buying the Bigma in the near future. Then things will get more interesting as my images should improve. Apologies for the poor quality images to-date but I thought I would explain why.
