Hi ther Billy .Welcome aboard..My mum was born in Tow law in County Durham, I visited many times as a child in the late 60's early 70's..in winter with all that snow thought it was the coldest place on earth...

hello all ,had to put my sighting on hwere as not sure how to make my own thread or post or whatever it is

i just been walking in the country next to where i live in durham i heard a strange noise what i did not no after investingating a bird just larger than a black bird flew along the gorse bushes onto small trees further on ,well to describe it it was bright yellow and black and made this incredible shriek of a call its still over there so might get a picture if i can get closer ? could this be a golden oriel ? i am good at knowing my birds but this has me stumped

any ideas jamie

Hi Jamie

Your question might not get seen on this forum go onto the British Birds forum (under the British Wildlife section), and then click the tab on the left - "new thread" and off you go, just say in the title bird id or something and I am sure there will be an expert out there to help.
