Re: hi everyone

Hello there and welcome to the site enjoy we are a friendly crowd here,in answer to your question on a DSLR myself personally do not know much about the K10 but I had the Canon 300D and now have the 400D and I thoroughly enjoy it and it has plenty of scope for enlarging your kit lens wise at a later stage ,hope this has helped but someone else will be along shortly as well no doubt with a differant opinion in the end its up to yourself the best thing is to go to a retailer and handle both kits and decide then which you prefer happy hunting and look forward to your pics and posts

Re: hi everyone

It's up to you but you definitely WON'T be disappointed with the Canon! (Unless you get a hankering for the newly released 450d of course) It's a great camera. Don't know much about the Pentax, but the 400d gets consistently fantastic reviews. Loads of people on here use it and with the right lens produce amazing images. Def a good choice for a first DSLR.

Enjoy the site and welcome

Re: hi everyone

Hi again everyone finally gave my self a kick and bought the canon i feel i done well and got a good bag worth sixty quid chucked in and also bought a 75x300mm lense for a start and lucky for me the man in the shop gave me the usm version rather than the standard so another saving there and now i just need to learn how to use the features.
