| | Hello from me, and hello from myself & I All three of me have been probing your great forum ... tripped over it on a Google search.
My I introduce myself ...
My name is muckshifter, I am a Scot of the McDonald ClanRanald Clan, a retired computer engineer, ill health, who presently resides in Southport Merseyside.
Been a keen naturalist since I can remember ... love snakes, once collected 150 African snails, much to the delight of me Mother, had at one time 15 tropical fish tanks, varying setups, not all mine, some belonged to my dearly departed Lady, not to mention a dog three cats and a parakeet.
Have had the great pleasure of wondering around Europe and the Far East of Singapore & Hong Kong, not forgetting most of Britain.
It's only recently I have taken to going on day trips with my dear sister, I have no transport of my own and she has recently retired, so has more time on her hands.
Our main venue is Martin Mere, great place to visit ... we are 'experimenting' with other places and are going to try out Mere Sands Wood this Saturday.
Any help on near & far interesting places to visit would be greatly appreciated. I do have trouble walking, use a stick & wheelchair occasionally, so big walks are a little beyond my poor little legs.
We both love birdwatching, we'll watch any wildlife as a rule, but the British home grown bird verity are our favorites.
I don't have a window box, never mind a garden, but my sister has a reasonably well established front & back, even if she has paved over most of it, she does have quite a few bird feeders out which attract a nice selection of birds ... she makes me jealous.
Any suggestions on how, and if practical, to make a bird-feeding-windowbox would be interesting to hear.
Well, I've waffled on for long enough, thanks for reading and having me on this great forum ... I'll go read some more of your posts.

| | | Re: Hello from me, and hello from myself & I Hi muckshifter, Have you thought of getting a few brackets, similar to the ones used for hanging baskets, fitted above your window, and putting bird feeders on them, it would be much better than a window box and a lot less costly in both cash and maintainence, if you suspend the feeders on cord so that they can be lowered as needed for re-filling and cleaning, you may be surprised at the visitors you get. Welcome to WAB, Keith
