| | | Hi from Germany Hi,
I'm English (Bristol, Sheffield, Swindon) and have been living in Germany for the last 5 years.
Am building a house here and wanted to find a good community to help me get wildlife into a newly developed plot of land so my kids can enjoy it as much as I did when I was growing up in the (relative) countryside in the UK.
Thought I'd pop in here first to say hello.

Yes, we still have Red Squirrels, in fact we only have Red Squirrels in the area I'm living (Würzburg). I will try to get some pictures posted up.

You are so lucky having Red Squirrels around. Do you get Pine Martens locally too? I understand they're a bit of a nuisance in Germany, having developed a liking for car electric cables! |

| | | Re: Hi from Germany Yes we have Pine Martens - and yes they are a pest. They like nothing better than to climb up under the car into where the engine is still warm and chew through a few cables.
and once they've been there, they leave a scent in the car, which is very difficult to get rid off (means they keep coming back).
Thanks once again for all the welcomes!
