Hi upinsmoke and a warm welcome to WAB. Best advice I can offer on photographing birds or anything else for that matter is practice, practice and more practice. Read the photography forums and don't be afraid to ask for help, there are some excellent wildlife photographers on here who are always wiling to give advice
