Hello and welcome to the site it is quite daunting at first but you will soon get used to it,as regards to your ID if you can post a pic it would help if you click on the gallery tab at top of page then go to archives you will find out how to upload a pic

Re: hopeless and lost

Hi and welcome to the forum. If you could describe the beetle I'm sure somebody will identify it for you

Hi there! I guess you meant to be "luckyduchess"? Anyway, here's a warm welcome to you from plain ol' "Dutchess"! (Mine is spelt wrong intentionally, as I keep Dutch Rabbits I have played on the word )

Have fun here, we're a friendly crowd.

D.

Re: hopeless and lost

Hi Duchess, as Bill said, best thing to do is try to take a pic of your beetle & then upload it.

Smile Thank you for your welcome

Thank you all for a nice welcome. The wee beasties that I have trundleing across the floor are about 1cm long dark brown with like a fawn saddle type stripe on it's back. It has no wings, I have found them in my kitchen draws but they don't seem to live long. Any ideas????

Re: hopeless and lost

Hi Luckydutchess,

welcome to wab.

Your beetle sounds like it could be a Larder Beetle - Dermestes lardarius.

Re; Thank you

Hi Neil
Thanx a lot for your information. I have had a look at a picture of the larder beetle and it does look like them, so much so that I think you have cracked it for me.
I will keep my eyes open and keep setting them free as I can't kill them they are so tiny and really they don't do any damage except drive the cat to distraction trying to catch them.

Thanks a lot
Sue
