| | | Hello From Suffolk Hi all,
I found this site whilst Googling for good locations to find wildlife in Suffolk.
I'm a keen, but very amateur, photographer who enjoys trying to photograph anything from insects to birds.
I visit the usual sites such as Minsmere and Dunwich but would like to find more.
Any suggestions on good spotting sites for any kind of wildlife would be appreciated.
Thanks for any advice or guidance.

Down Ipswich way we have the Orwell estuary, which I know particularly well; and the Felixstowe peninsula which includes Trimley Marsh and Landguard Bird Observatory. Feel free to PM me if you'd like more detailed info on access etc.

A warm welcome to WAB from a WABer just below you on the map.
I must confess that Suffolk is normally a drive through County for me on the way to Norfolk but I normally do get to the Minsmere/Dunwich area at least once a year.

Have you visited any of the Suffolk Wildlife Trust Reserves, some of them are excellent.

| | | Re: Hello From Suffolk Thank you to everyone for giving me such a warm welcome to the Forum.
In particular, thanks to Tursiops2 and Andy Warne for giving me specific details of places to visit and web links.
T2:
I live on the outskirts of Ipswich and drive past the Orwell Estuary almost every day, however it's only recently that my interest in photography has pushed me to try and learn more about the area and it's wildlife.
Thanks for the offer of more information, I'll be in contact.
Richew:
Any information on sites to visit in Norfolk would also be welcomed, I am particularly interested in dragonflies/damselflies and birds.
Regards,
Dave |
