Hello all - how great it is to be a part of the 'WAB' family at last! I've been threatening to do this for a while - I found the site (god bless Google!) last summer, and thoroughly enjoy reading everybody's posts, comments etc. and my favourite activity on the site is to look at everybody's fantastic photographs. I hope to start uploading my own soon - give you all a laugh! I live on the Southampton/New Forest border, I love all all things wildlife, both great and small, and I love to take pictures of them, although I'm no expert. A lot of my photography is done in my back garden, which I try to make as wildlife friendly as possible, and can be seen most weekends rummaging around in the shrubbery, camera round my neck (the neighbours think I'm crackers!). The latin names could be interesting for me, but I hope to learn from you all! |

Hi, I am glad you decided to say hello at long last  . I found it very daunting when I first submited images to the gallery and waiting to see if they had been accepted or not, but its such a good feeling when they are, and especially if someone comments  . Enjoy the site and I look forward to seeing your images  . |

Hello and welcome, LoveT.
What a great part of the country you live in. I adore the New Forest. We camp there every year when exhibiting at the Agricultural show in July. We make it a mini-holiday! Last year was a total washout though, never seen mud like it, everyone had to be towed off the campsite by tractors in the end!

Glad you have taken the plunge. I live on the opposite side of the forest at Corfe Mullen in Dorset. Don't be shy about uploading your pics... I for one can't wait to see them. My pics and videos are nothing special, but it's the thrill of seeing "wildlife" that I'm addicted to. Don't worry my family think I'm crackers too.... rumaging around in the hedge with my video camera looking for slowworms! Welcome to the madhouse! Jane |

Thanks to all for the warm welcome. Well, I've now had a go at uploading an image to the gallery - if it has worked properly (I've read all about the problems people have doing this - yikes!) and gets past the moderator you'll be able to see it very soon. Not bad, but not one of my best shots!
