Re: hi from orkney!!

You lucky person - i was up there lots in the 80's (most of the time!) staying mainly in Stromness! where abouts are you? Hoped to go back up there to live a few years back but it didn't work out - hopefully this year though! some photos would be really good - definately the most photogenic place in Britain, not to mention fantastic for wildlife!

Re: hi from orkney!!

its heavenly! the weather is wild, the animals are wild but the people are oh so friendly! you can look at the same thing every day but it never looks the same. its so magical being surrounded by water. standing at the front door on a wild day and you can hear the crash of the waves against the shore and the cry of the gulls. oh i love it!

Unhappy Re: hi from orkney!!

Hi Suzsted,

Never been there myself yet but am sure it's just as you say. Scotland's a bit of a sore point with me as I really want to move there but my partner doesn't I went to the Highlands for a holiday and didn't want to leave, and I'm sure I'd feel the same about Orkney! The scenery in Scotland is beautiful and the people are so friendly! Welcome to the site!

And a warm welcome to WAB Suz. Will go and have a gander at your pics now. I am envious of your sound of the sea and crashing waves. Sounds like a great place to live. Enjoy .
