I think you mean 'were' a bargain though , recent ebay prices, especially on G glass (if you can find it!) have been ridiculous. One 600mm G lens is reported to have sold for over £6000 at a private photographic equipment auction but I can't find the link reference now. That's pretty much what they used to be new. Wonder what Sony's new version will cost , for sure I won't be able to afford one
Denis.

I had some problem uploading too when I started, try this if you want to upload to a new thread to ask for help with identification say. first of all go to Gallery, click on Archives, then click on upload , select the pic from your files on your PC and upload into Archives. Go back into Forum and click on new thread, and maybe you want to ask the forum for help in ID ,so write your request and then go to Gallery, click on Archives, then on Forum Images, select your photo, click on your photo then scroll down and you will see the Forum Code ,Left click on the line of letters it goes to blue, right click and copy. go back to your thread and left click to get your cursor then right click and paste, your photo will show as the Forum Code in letters, Position it below the paragraph you have written and submit your Thread.
Hope this works for you,

Duncan | Thanks for that Duncan, good info and works fine
Problem is that to post a pic, first I have to download it from my on-line Gallery into a file just so that I can upload it again to WAB and then type in all the info again. I dont keep the pics I post on-line at that size on my computer. Also, the t&c's don't make posting large files a viable proposition due to copyright issues. Most places are right click, copy link, paste link, job done. I see now it's not difficult at all, just time consuming (I don't have a lot of that ) and seemingly long-winded to post a pic.
I also note that any pic uploaded via Archives is not credited to the poster and doesn't show up on "my photos". If I drop a 'wotsit' with an ID (see elsewhere ) it's either difficult to find and ammend or I haven't quite sussed it yet ................working on it though
Thanks for the info
Denis.
