| | | Kingfisher Hello to everyone out there. I'm not intending to make fellow WAB members envious, but for the last couple of week's I have had a Kingfisher in the garden and on my pond. I didn't see him yesterday ( Sunday), but was there again today (Monday). I have hundred's of small goldfish, so he must think its Tesco's.. Amazing to watch. Makes you wonder why they bob up and down! |

| | | Re: Kingfisher Aren't they incredibly beautiful birds? I had a stroll around the RSPB site at Minsmere today and had the pleasure of seeing one at fairly close quarters. Certainly got a v. good view through the binoculars of it hanging onto a reed stem. As an angler I often see them when fishing and it always gives me a thrill. |

| | | Re: Kingfisher and here's me thinking I'm the only one lucky enough to have Kingfishers in the garden
But a word of warning JR - when you say you have "...hundreds of small goldfish.." - I hope your pond is fairly large and deep in parts as these birds can clear large numbers of pondfish - our visiting birds all but cleared one of my ponds of more than 140 golden minnows over the Christmas/New Year period last year
Also, watching them can become quite an obsession!!- you might find my 'Kingfisher Diary (with photos)' thread of interest.
Welcome to WAB by the way
Jeff
