| | | Nikon ED82 I wonder if anyone has experience of importing a telescope? I am interested in a Nikon ED82 and find that complete with lens, I can purchase one in America, making a substantial saving of approximately £350.

| | | Re: Nikon ED82 Thanks for the responses and the welcome.
Nikon state that their warranty is internationally recognised and that this type of importation would not come under the terms of 'grey imports' or contravene their warranties.
Import duty would be payable, that is why I posted the message to ask if anyone had previous experience hoping that they may know of the procedures and percentages due.
Best wishes to you all and I look forwards to many happy hours of discussion.

| | | Re: Nikon ED82 I followed up the possible importation of a telescope and was informed by HM Customs and Excise that duty at the rate of 4.2% and VAT at 17.5% would be payable which would still make a saving of £200. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
