Heres my problem.
I'm trying to encourage diversity in the vally, as best I can without being heavy handed. But Sparrowhawks are taking many of the small birds I am trying to encourage.
You got any advice on discouraging them? Bear in mind, they are truly magnificent things and I welcome them. But they are starting to get the upper hand in the valley. | Hi and welcome. I'm new here too The fact that you have a sparrowhawk indicates you have a healthy population of prey (like songbirds). You shouldn't try to discourage the hawk, just make sure you continue to encourage the other birds and they will sort themselves out
I realise I'm not 'Austringer' but I thought I'd give my thoughts on your question too. I'm sure Roy will be around soon |
