Hi there, I'm new to this site and I'm from Canada. I visit the UK every 2 or 3 years and I'm always interested in your bird life as some of it is very different from what we have in Canada. I just returned last week and saw a small bird in my aunt's garden that I've never seen before. Maybe someone can tell me what it was. It was small (bluetit sized) but with a very long tail, buff chest and dark wings (black or dark grey). They were in a group of about 8 and all over her berry tree. Any ideas? Sounds like long tailed tits. Lovely little birds, on of my favourites!

Welcome Jane, have to agree sounds like Long tailed Tit If you search the gallery there are plenty of photos of them
