Hello from Peregrinus~

Hi all,

Just thought I'd introduce myself. I live in Hertfordshire, am a 33 year old male, and my interest lies mainly in Birds of Prey, so most of my posts will be in those sections...

Have to say what a great site it is so far. Very well put together.

Look forward to posting with you all

Thanks goosey, I see you're from Nederland. Echt een van de mooiste momenten van mijn hele leven!(In English:I have just returned to England from Holland. I shall write a post about when I saw a Golden Eagle in the dunes between Kijkduin and Ter Heijden whilst on my way to work in Den Haag. Really was one of the most beautiful moments of my life).

Groetjes,

Peregrinus~

Thanks for the welcome Richard,

My first real post will be about when I saw a Golden Eagle this Summer, however, it was in the Netherlands, not sure if it counts as this forum is about British wildlife? hmm, well, maybe the Eagle flew over there from Britain...who knows

Thanks Carol, will try to contribute as much as I can. Great forum! Unfortunately, I don't have a camera, other than the one on my somewhat aged mobile phone, so I doubt if I can contribute much in the way of pictures, only those I can borrow from the net

Hi, what a great experience, I had just read your post on the bird forum.
I was hoping to see Englands only Golden Eagle in Cumbria in July but I wasn't lucky - perhaps I should look closer to home.

Best wishes from a Brit in Holland.

Goosey

Great stuff, a picture would be great! Look forward to it . I've always wanted to get into falconry and have a bird myself, maybe in the future...

Hoi goosey, leuk dat je Nederlands kunnen, een van de weinigen. Ik ben ook Engels maar in 5 1/2 jaar heb ik nooit een andere Engelsman tegengekomen die Nederlands kunnen praten. Gek he? Luie honden zijn dat joh

Hi Goosey, nice that you can speak Dutch, one of the few. I am also English but in 5 1/2 years I've never come across another Englishman who can speak Dutch. Crazy hey? lazy dogs they are

Too bad you didn't see the Eagle in Cumbria, maybe try to spot an Eagle Owl or something in Holland as well. I read somewhere there are now around 50 breeding pairs in Holland. They are of course not a native species, apparently a few escaped from captivity or something a while back and they have now established themselves over there. There is a quarry or something in your area I believe somewhere where they say you're almost guarenteed to see one.

Rustig aan
