| | | Hi - Exmonkey from Kent Hi all,
I came across this forum because I am a keen, and new, mushroom and wild food forager.
I am looking forward to reading some tips and getting some much need identification help!
My most recent haul (from yesterday afternoon) some lovely deceivers, parasols and common puffballs - destined for soup:

| | | Re: Hi - Exmonkey from Kent Hi exmonkey, I hope you enjoy our soup! It looks an interesting haul you have. I have just started an interest in fungi and no way would I dare to eat any I find. Anyway just ask on the Fungi forum if you need help with any ID's, they are a cheerful helpful lot . Welcome! |

There are a great many fungi I wouldn't eat because I have had even just the smallest doubts about.
But the ones above are without doubt deceivers, amethyst deceivers, shaggy parasols and common puffballs. They are all very easy to identify and don't have any poisonous lookalikes. Except for the deceivers, and the spore print (white) confirmed that they where what they looked like.
My view is that most fungi are not deadly, and I only ever eat them once I have consulted every one of my various books, and the internet.
