Hello from Spidery Cumbria!

Hello to everyone

I recently joined and didn't discover this place where we introduce ourselves until today! Ive made a few posts and everyone is very helpful and knowledgeable.

I love spiders and have several in my house that I feed (they all have names!) - some have even moved home with me from the North East to the North West! So most of my posts will probably be about spiders - though Im interested in everything and like looking at the other forums to learn as much as I can.

I do voluntary work for the RSPB as that way I can get out and about and look at spiders as much as I can - the scenery is wonderful and if your'e ever in Cumbria, Bowness-on-Solway is a good place to visit - fantastic marsh, common and coast - lots of birds, dragonflies and of course - spiders!

Glad I found this forum - very friendly members!
If anyone wants to talk spiders - please feel free to message me

Hello Zygiella from a South Cumbrian! Welcome from me but I doubt our paths will cross as I do my best to avoid all things Arachnid . Fancy taking your spiders with you when you moved - you must be keen! Have fun here and I might see you around .

Hi Jen

Im a girl too (well....thats if over 30 is still a girl!)

Dont be scared - they're more afraid of you than you are of them! Theyre lovely creatures, very pretty and very clever! The more you know about them the less afraid you'll be

Hi Zygiella, pleased to meet and greet you, welcome to WAB. I must admit I have adopted house-spiders as semi-pets, but only the smaller ones!

Hi Goosey

Nice to meet another Cumbrian

What lovely photos in your wildlife friendly garden - the flowers are beautiful - but there's something missing in your insect section....!!! Spiders! I know you don't like them, but have you had a look at the garden spiders - they really are lovely and Im sure you'll have some around your garden - even if you look from a distance - go on - they wont hurt you! Im sure you'd get a really good photo of one to put in your gallery! My boyfriend couldn't look at your moth and butterfly section - he had a bad experience at the Morecambe Butterfly House when he was lad - and hes scared of them!
