| | | Hello from March. Hi,
I thought I would take this opportunity to introduce myself.
I am new to this forum and fairly new to discovering that there is a world beyond my computer screen.
I recently (3.5 years ago) moved to Cambridgeshire from London and have had my eyes opened to the wildlife roaming the countryside. To be honest I have lost count of how many times I have said 'What's that?' to my partner. She finds it hilarious.
In the past 3 years I have taken to visiting wildlife reserves and now with my newly discovered eyes I am enjoying taking in all that Britain has to offer.
Looking in the garden is not the same as it was in the past. I have even invested in a complicated camera (Digital SLR). Who knows, I might even learn to use it some time.
I built a pond last year (my first) and it has become established very quickly. We are frequently visited by frogs, toads, dragonflies, damselflies, all sorts of spiders, hedgehogs, cats, mosquitoes of course, insects I can't name and deer! To name a few. :-)
I have loads of stories and pictures which I look forward to sharing with you.

| | | Re: Hello from March. Hi Lyndon and a very warm welcome to WAB from me.
I was in your neck of the woods on Saturday as I went to Eldernell for the Purple Heron that has taken up temporary residence there.
Nice part of the Country (apart from the prison at the edge of March) you live in. I used to have an annual break there myself so know it fairly well.
Good luck with the DSLR and lets get to see some of your photos please.

Don't worry about the insects you don't know, take a piccie and post it on the insect forum and you'll soon get an answer. Enjoy the site and see you around . |
