Hello There!

My name's John and I (unfortunately) live in the West Midlands.

I've been a keeper of Exotic Invertebrates (Mostly Theraphosids and other venomous invertebrates) and Reptiles for a number of years.

My main contributions on the forums will be regarding the multitudes of Spiders and Myriapodae found in this country, moreso than most other sections!

I also look forward to getting to know you all a bit better!

Re: Hello There!

Hi John, I doubt our paths will cross often as I am really not into what you specialise in, spiders are a no no for me, although I find reptiles quite fascinating. There are always loads of spider and reptile questions so you will have plenty to keep you occupied. Anyway, enjoy the site and welcome to WAB.

Re: Hello There!

Hi John,

A warm welcome to WAB, I think most of us joined with a favourite or specialist subject (I enjoy the Trees and Wildflowers) but find you get involved with more, I have not a clue about insects, etc but I am taking more notice - I enjoy looking at the fantastic photos in the gallery, I think you will enjoy WAB, looking forward to your posts & photos.

Carol.

Re: Hello There!

Hello there John
I have just googled your name (excuse me for not knowing ) ….and aaaarrrggghhhh…..had to get off that page quick. I don’t know why spiders panic me so much, I’m ok if I see them outside, they can even walk next to me if they like, but inside and I have to leave the room till I can see them no more.
It must be so lovely to enjoy them and I really admire you for that.
Anyway, what I meant to say was welcome to the Wab and I look forward to seeing you on the forums!
Suzanne
ps I've only passed through the West Midlands so I couldn't possibly comment!

Hi Suzanne,

If you're ever passing through the West Midlands again feel free to pop in for a cup of tea and an Arachnophobia therapy session! :P

Thanks John
But I fear I will have to psyche myself up for that ….West midlands?.... or spiders?….you decide…. but thanks for the kind offer.
Anyway, I'm sure they're both lovely in their own way!

Monkster... Couldn't agree more. I've had some pretty unnerving moments viewing pictures of 'John' too

I'm getting quite attached to some of our garden spiders (occasionally literally with the smaller ones). Fascinating creatures to watch.

Welcome aboard John!
