Smile Hi to everyone from Loopy2

Thought that I would introduce myself to everyone. My specialist interest is fishing but I love all the wildlife and mostly the birds that surround me when I am fishing. I fly fish so have an interest in entomology. Hope to make worthwile contributions to the forum and learn while I am here. Confirm that I have no commercial interests in anything that might affect the forum.

There seem to be quite a few rules here!

Cheers for now.

PS My spelling is lousy!

OOps this should this be in the hello section?

Hi Loopy2

My husband's cousin is into fishing - he collects old fishing rod reels. Have been mackerel fishing myself - first time lucky, I caught one but thought the hook got stuck to the rocks below! - was a few months pregnant at the time! Not caught a fish since on 2 other attempts! While fishing for more, some people leave the mackerel in a rockpool. On one occasion, a seagull helped itself to one! Nearest now I get to fishing is with a rod that has a magnet as a hook!

Hi Goosegogs

Your husband's cousin is into fishing. That is good. Check out and see if has a Hardy Perfect.
If he has, bop him on the head and sell it on Ebay! Only joking.
Mackeral fishing can be great fun. Good story about the seagull. Regarding the magnet "method" - you never really know what you might hook!

Well - last time, I caught some treasure, a shark and a marlin! My son caught the leather boot, tuna and an octopus. The Fantasy Fishing Game requires skill, perserverance, focus and nerves of steel, in order to hook yourself a prize catch instead of an old boot! It beats that handheld electronic thing with the "reel" that shakes when you catch a fish.

I haven't caught any treasure and have been lucky enough to avoid any boots! I've seen that hand held game and it can be annoying. The fantasy game sounds like fun and similar to the real thing in a lot of ways! Your son will be taking you fishing soon!

Re: Hi to everyone from Loopy2

Hi and welcome to the forum. I used to do a lot of fly fishing years ago and remember that it was a great way to observe wildlife, and was also very relaxing. I'm now into photography but your introduction got me thinking about combining the three - photography, fishing and wildlife
