| | | No more lurking! Hi all,
well after probably 3 months of 'lurking' and just reading the posts on here I thought it was about time to join.
Mind not that I know very much, so I don't think I will be adding any great experience to the forum!
I am one of those passionate unknowlegable watchers of wildlife I am afraid - although I do go away afterwards and find out what I can about whatever I have been watching and I am learning.
I am also another 'Bigma' user and a keen photograher when I get chance to get out there. I also create audio recordings from reserves, wildlife outings and surveys and have over the last few months been building a website dedicated to wildlife photography, audio and links to external resources. The audio is from the basis of the ordinary guy learning and exploring rather then in the guise of anything authoratitve.
My partner and I have over the last 12 months have got quite heavily involved with bats and have attended a number of organised bat walks and bat courses and at the moment are taking part in the BCT surveys. You will often find us out at night, Jayne with the bat detector, I with the night field latern and recording equipment and shockingly one of these night time bat field recordings actually got a small segment aired on BBC radio as a recommended listen.
Anyway that's me and I look forward to taking part in the forum and maybe even saying something intelligent from time to time... well you never know! |

As someone else mentioned, your photography site sounds great as does your work with the bats!! You'll have to post a few pics in the galleries here as well so we can all enjoy them
I 'lurked' for a while before joining too. You get drawn into all the really fascinating threads. Bad news, I'm afraid. It gets worse once you've registered and can join in the conversations
Enjoy WAB |

Billy Wobble Dagger - after a while of taking part in the forum I will pop the link up to the site, however for now I'm not going to as it might seem a bit rude if I join and immediatley start popping links to things I do.
GME - The other half is the really 'batty' one. She wants longer term to get her rabies shots and help out with bat rehabilitation. Me, I tend to tag along on the night time rambles and annoy her a bit |

| | | Re: No more lurking! Hi ChasCreek, what a great introduction, it was so interesting. I am a newbie, who "lurked" for a week before rushing to join up. I mostly intend on reading and learning, though, occasionally I like to add my "two pence" worth. Good luck with your website. |

As you have found out, you can not lurk for ever .... you just have to sign up to WAB .
You may feel that you do not know very much now but just stick with WAB and you will soon find your knowledge and experience increasing rapidly.
Your website and bat projects sound very interesting. Keep up the good work. Are you able to give us a link to your website?
