New Member from SE London says sorry!

" Hi everyone

I have a small back garden in Crystal Palace SE London where I have tried to make it as wildlife friendly as poss
I've been ill for years so was concentrating on birds but now I'm fit enough to get out there again. I've got a pond now and can't wait for dragonflies. I have a hazel and hawthorn hedge and loads of native plants. It sounds big but is only 30' long

I was so exited finding this site and all the brilliant info and chat that I posted my first question before I said "hello" so sorry about that!

Best wishes to all

Hello Mossylog, it's good to hear about your garden, some photo's woulld be nice. There is a thread about members garden on The Wildlife gardening forum, if you haven't got round to seeing everything on offer at WAB yet. It really is such a friendly place - I hope you have fun here, welcome .
No need to say sorry - it's easy to get drawn into the site so enthusiastically

Thank You

Hi there all

Thank you so much for the warm welcome!

This is a huge site, much better (so, so, so much better) than bbc gardening. I will try to find the members gardens forum and upload some pics of my efforts, that makes even more of a welcome challenge.

I just half buried some pots on their sides 'cos I thought it might be a nice place for toads to hide, in the damp muddy bit next to the pond. I sit and wait!

Back soon

MossyLog

Re: New Member from SE London says sorry!

hello MossyLog, welcome to the forum.
You're probably aware, but just in case you aren't, you're not far from London Wildlife Trust's
Wildlife Gardening Centre in Dulwich. Wild London It's years since I visited, but it's a lovely place.

Looking forward to seeing your photos.

Re: New Member from SE London says sorry!

Hi Tursiops

I thank you for reminding me of the place - I haven't been there for years. It is where I got my hazel and hawthorn saplings from and they only wanted donations at the time. I hope they are asking for real money these days.
I remember there was a group of Roots and Shoots (young adults with learning difficulties) working and thoroughly enjoying themselves and I spent best part of a day with them.
You have inspired me to go back over and see how it has all flourished, it was already a little haven then
will be back to let you all know what I find as I need a few more bits and pieces .

Welcome - the best gardens are those that are left to themselves as much as possible: so you don't disturb the wildlife! Let us know about your beetles ....
