| | | Hello from Swansea Hi all, found this site whilst browsing information on plants, and decided to join up.
About me? Well, I'm male, 32, and live in, yep, you guessed, Swansea. I currently work as a garden centre supervisor, but am going to start studying horticulture this september. In addition to gardening I enjoy spending time outside, either parklands, wilderness, or formal gardens, and taking pictures (I'm a bit dated, still prefer 35mm). I also LOVE old books, and have a small, but increasing, collection of tomes on horticulture dating from 1900 to 1930, which I find fascinating, as there is a lot of pre-chemical information in them.
Anything else you want to know, just ask. I'll try posting someof my pictures later on (got some lovely shots of Clyne gardens, and some nice BnW of Aberglasney)

| | | Re: Hello from Swansea Hello Del and a very warm welcome. I love garden centres and nurseries and never happier when I am wandering round with my list - ok Im lugging my list around its so heavy
How exciting to start studying hoticulture - good luck, Im sure it will be as great as I imagine.
It must be lovely to have your old books, it seems an increasingly popular to restore old garden to how they were pre war or when they were first designed with help of old plans and records - fancy being in on something like that Have you come across any Gertrude Jekyll books yet - what an inspiration she was - I love her gardening style, but I see you are more in to formal design.
Oh well I could go on all day - I only came on to say hello Hello and welcome! |

Oh, and Richard, before moving to Swansea I lived in Rushley Park, small area between Felmores, Burnt Mills, and Pitsea. Small world, eh? |

I live about 2 or 3 miles from those locations and Wat Tyler Country Park is my local patch (hence the blog).

Although a Sais, I lived in Derwen Fawr for 23 years overlooking Clyne Valley. We loved the area including Clyne Gardens which are in a class of their own. I was also a WILLIE -a member of the Woodman Inn Liquid Libation and Interesting Evening Society. Dai the Dragon comes from across the Loughor but is a nice bloke for all that.
