Hello guys wow i really did not think there would be any people really from Hayes it was meant to be a joke as i honestly thought there would be nobody from Hayes interested in nature as its dirty,ugly and a pretty useless place for wildlife. The posh part!  
I used to live quite close to the Brook House pub.
Considering what a built up area it is there are some good green spaces around and it is actually a great place for all sorts of wildlife.  If you are able to get to Minet Country Park there are all sorts of birds and insect life there and they do guided walks too. I believe skylarks are declining in numbers nationally but they seem to be doing well at this site.
I think you would be surprised by just how much you can find of interest in your area and how many people there are about who are wild about wildlife.
So, Hayes is dirty; yes, ugly; definitely, useless for wildlife? Not on your nelly. |

welcome to WAB from another ex greenford & hayes. I have to second Susie on Hayes being good for wildlife. my Hayes garden (just off lansdsbury drive) produced 21 species of butterfly, 230 species of moth, 6 types of dragon/damselflies and thats without a pond so plenty to look for. Keep at it.

Minet country park is very good for widlife. This is where I saw my first kestrel hovering low above the ground glaring directly at the rough land on my way to play football.

Probably best not to put your details onto a public website, lovely. Not even one as nice as this.
In that case you will know Yeading Brook Meadows too. That is another good place for insects and wild flowers. |

Hi thankyou for editing it. Yes i do know yeading brook field unfortunately its not been cut for about 2 years so its tricky to walk through. But the brook i commonly see a grey heron. | | | |
