Hello to all from deepest Essex!

I have just discovered “Wild About Britain” …. what an excellent online community and information resource!

I live in the suburban jungle of south east England and have been birding for as long as I can remember. Apart from my home county of Essex, I also visit Kent, Suffolk and Norfolk on a regular basis and usually visit Wales and the Scottish Highlands at least once a year

As well as being a keen birder and I am also interested most things related to wildlife, the natural environment and conservation.

Oh, and I also support Manchester United …. that will invoke both hostility and sympathy!

I am now becoming increasingly involved in wildlife and landscape photography and last year I launched my own website .... sorry …. shameless plug! It can be found at www.richardchewphotography.com if you wish to drop by.

I hope to be able to contribute to forum discussions and upload some of my photos to the gallery.

Glad to join up and be here.

Remember …. “Take nothing but photographs, leave nothing but footsteps and kill nothing but time”.

Richard

Re: Hello to all from deepest Essex!

A very warm welcome to WAB Richard. Looking at your website you certainly have plenty to offer the gallery and no doubt the forum in general.

You certainly visit all the right places each year, as I do, so hopefully some good reports will be winging their way to WAB.

BTW my Mrs comes from not too far from you, Wickford. All her family still live around there such as Runham & Ramsden Heath.

Good birding

John

Re: Hello to all from deepest Essex!

My thanks for the warm welcome I have received (what a friendly community WAB is!) and for the favourable comments on my own website .... much appreciated.

Richard

Hi Richard

A belated welcome to WAB. The 'favourable comments' you have received have been very well deserved - your photographs are fantastic! Look forward to seeing more of your work.

Hi Richard

I can't PM you yet as you don't have that facility but I have just realised who you are. You will know me as Reader on another forum, and thanks again for the info you gave me.

John

Hello John

Yes .... just recognised you too! .... the avatar is a give away!

I also note we have something in common with our work, albeit you housing association and me local authority. I guess the wages help pay for our other interests!

Best wishes

Richard

Blimey, you get paid wages. lol

I'm only a Housing Assistant so not on a huge wage.

It looks like we are coming down your way after all on Saturday. We are aiming to be at southend for 07:30 to 8am after Rossi then back to Pitsea for the Waxwings finishing off hopefully after the Pendulines.

John
