| | greetings from exeter! hello, my name is elly aka the blissful urchin, ive just arrived on this forum and have already spent far too long this evening reading all the interesting posts and replies instead of doing my chores
i found this site when i was searching for an answer to my question, the inquisitive being that i am i like to find out what the little bug on the window sill is or why an animal is behaving in a certain way, i think that brings you one step closer to understanding and relating to the world around you, and its great to see so many other inquisitive people and a place to share our knowledge and passions.
im an ecologist by day (and night during the summer!) so have a fair bit of hands on experience of protected species such as bats, Great Crested Newts, Dormice, Badgers and the like, and am trying to swat up on my birds, bugs and botany, but in my spare time i love just soaking up nature, you cant beat the pure organic sound of bees buzzing in the flowers and birds chirping in the trees or the smell of a bluebell wood or a pine forest. its heaven on earth. i hope i can be an active part of these forums when im actually near a computer not rushing round doing surveys, just as i hope i can learn from everyone too.
i also love the cultural aspect of the human animal, taking great interest in art and music especially that produced on a community level, and with reference to nature, music wise i like the organic sound, real instruments and tribal rhythms. www.myspace.com/blissfulurchin if anyone identifies with my wavelength and wants to be a friend! |
