Re: Hello from Jersey, Channel Islands

Good evening Simon and welcome to Wild About Britain. I have no doubt other members will soon be in touch with advice on photography. Hope you enjoy our forums but do look at the other sections of the site - you could perhaps add a few items yourself.

Sunny afternoon at St.Ouen's pond

Enjoying my first weekend off work for ages, it was straight down to St. Ouen’s pond where four marsh harriers and some stonechats. Also a bittern (my first) flew past, sorry he was to fast to get a picture of him. But hope you like these.

All the best

Simon

Hi Simon and welcome to the forum. A couple of nice shots there. Stonechats are cracking little birds aren't they.

Hi Simon and a warm welcome to Wild About Britain. I see that you have posted your Stonechat in the gallery. Would you also post the Marsh Harriers, please. I know that there is not a photo of flying Marsh Harriers and it would be nice to have it

On it's way,

We are lucky enough to have about 10 birds and this time of year do their acrobatic thing. Have a few more shots but still not a really top shot.

They are fasinating to watch. A few years ago I was lucky enough to watch 15 in the air at one time. They seemed to be playing the wind and enjoying what they were at.
