Paul, this is always frowned upon, but I do it anyway. Just get a child's pond dipping net and go to a suitable pond and do a bit of pond-dipping (one that isn't heavily stocked with fish).
OK, I think the next point I'm going to make is very important. Do not then carry on to the next pond without thoroughly cleaning and sterilizing your net first. The idea is not to cross-contaminate ponds with invasive non-native species and waterborne diseases.
And a final point, do not release anything from your pond back into the wild. It is illegal and it is very wrong to do this.
You'll probably not find frogspawn now. The eggs should have hatched. Happy taddie hunting ;-)
