| | please help identify these Burrows Hi Everyone i came across these Burrowsin Richmond park Surrey ..aprox 30/40 of them in a radius of i'd say 20-30 square meters.
Would they be Rabbits, fox, Badgers? |

| | | Re: please help identify these Burrows Did you check around for poo? Rabbits will have a poo heap close by and badgers will have latrines(or dung pits) quite close. Was there a foxy smell?
Looking at the way they were excavated, and the number of them, I think they are rabbits. |

To be honest I took the pics early spring so memory is a bit fuzzy.
I didnt look for poo but think if I'd of seen little piles of it would have remembered.....not sure what a foxy smell is but I imagine it to be a strong pungent aroma maybe like Tom cat? If so I didn't smell it.
It was a clean fresh day actualy and didn't really smell of anything.
I too thought rabbit but the size of the burrows were quite large.
Next time I'm over there I'll do a little investigating..
Thanks for the info woodwench very much apreciated
regards Dan |
