Roadside Habitats any useful?

We have created ponds for great crested newts and the results are truly outstanding, i can go to any number of ponds we built in the summer and see the gcn.
I have also noticed a big increase in red kite and buzzard alongside the motorway verges The big grassed areas at the side of the road often have roadkill which wanders off to die this attracts the buzzards and kites .
I could go on for hours talkingabout the work we do but to be honest i sometimes cant believe that what i love doing i get paid for.
Each season has special meaning to me as i see all the changes happen and notice how it effects different forms of wildlife.
And just one more, some of the balancing ponds have more wildlife than some nature reserves do. We have one balancing pond that has the odd otter coming through along the drains that join it.

That`s me told then. A while ago I got a planned drain to an already existing pond moved as the pond had Crested Newts in it. At this point I own that it was on our own land at the time. In the light of experience I suppose that I wasted my time.
