| | | A Dog Out of Control Have just been sent this YouTube Video.
It is situations like this which gives dogs a bad name when in fact it is an irresponsible owner to blame.
This is a serious situation which should result in a prosecution. JAGGL113's Channel - YouTube

| | | Re: A Dog Out of Control This clip was on tv last night and the presenters found it funny. The deer were panicked and it could have caused an accident with the traffic. So all in all very unfunny in my opinion.

| | | Re: A Dog Out of Control What are the odds that he's excise was 'He's never done that before!' There are plenty of leadless idiots in richmond park with multiple dogs.
Sadly I see this sort of thing everyday, and at least where I am its most the owners that let their dogs run where ever they want: through reed beds, stir up ponds and scare off what little wildlfie is left. The reedbed walk, designed to introduce people to the wonders of this habitat, which in spring was a thriving with many new aquatic plants, is now a lifeless muddy puddle with a 2 foot border of dog footprints. Its heartbreaking for me, but the dog owners just don't care |

| | | Re: A Dog Out of Control The comments on You Tube are just as annoying - they all see it as funny.
Luckily, because it was in the open, traffic was able to anticipate the panicking deer running across the road and was able to slow down accordingly - you hit one of these deer and that is an awful amount of damage to the vehicle, resulting in the inevitable agonising death for the deer and distress for anybody witnessing the incident.
Well, we all know the name of the dog, so surely somebody must know who the idiot is, leading to an arrest. (and we still do not know if the dog mauled any deer)

| | | Re: A Dog Out of Control There is a forest near where I live where dogs occasionally go missing. When I researched the subject, I discovered that deer can and do attack dogs when threatened. On all levels this clip seems wrong, but if one stag had been having "one of those days" then that clip could have had a very different outcome to the one seen. In all cases of irresponsible dog handling the dog has my sympathy.
I would like to see all irresponsible dog owners trained in dog obedience, or their dogs taken away from them. I feel that strongly about this. It's never going to happen though.

| | | Re: A Dog Out of Control As I understand the law, ANY member of the public seeing this video, and being so concerned or outraged, can go to the nearest police station, make an official complaint, and this then has to be taken up with the Richmond Park area police who have a duty to investigate.
At the very least, this should involve asking the local TV news station to broadcast the video asking the man to come forward to explain the circumstances 'as there may be an innocent explanation' (as they so quaintly put it !) I'd much prefer this clip to be shown on Crimewatch to make the public sit up and think and take these offences more seriously.
I used to walk a German Shepherd who's owner (a frail lady) used to let it out at 5-6 am every morning to wander around the village ("To do it's business") One day it came back covered in blood with a serious wound which had to be stitched up. The owner led me to believe it must have been hit by a car or attacked by a dog, but at the weekend a nearby holiday home owner returned to her home and found a dead MUNTJAC deer at the bottom of her garden, very badly mauled or bitten to death.
My sympathy's are with the deer not the dog.
