Hi All
I would like to use this forum to highlight a major wildlife conservation issue in the North East of England at the moment.
Newcastle City Council are undergoing planning consultation to build 600 houses on designated green belt land bordering a nature reserve, designated SSSI and home to Badger, Bittern, Otter, Red Squirrel and Kingfisher to name a few.
Rather than repeat what is already on our campaign website and the website of the Natural History Society of Northumbria, here are a few links with more information.
Save Gosforth Wildlife Campaign ? To stop the building of 600 houses on greenbelt land next to Gosforth Park Nature Reserve The Natural History Society of Northumbria

If the scheme goes ahead it will devastate the wildlife corridor used by kingfishers and the foraging area used by mammals.
Any support anybody can give to this campaign is very much appreciated.
Thanks
Alan
