| | Batty about bats I have in the past seen a few bats flying around the trees beyond my back garden.
How do I tempt them into my garden.
I am mental about bats, they are my favourite animal, and would give anything to see them more often. |

| | | Re: Batty about bats If you have suitable trees or walls in your garden, put up some bat boxes An article on making and siting bat boxes.
Growing plants which flower at night (honeysuckle is particularly good) will attract the insects that bats feed on.
A pond will often attract bats to drink, or feed on emerging insects.
Get yourself a bat detector: Bat Detectors - Bat Conservation Trust
You'll probably find that bats are a more frequent visitor to your garden than you realise

| | | Re: Batty about bats The easiest thing to do is put up roost boxes. Otherwise it would be quite hard to encourage them to hunt over your garden specifically.

| | | Re: Batty about bats They should be safely tucked up now but Planting your garden to attract insects will definitely help, a wine syrup will bring in moths, and a sack or two of raw horses doofers will bring in insects. The local Bat Group will be able to tell you what sort of bats are in the area, your own bat detector (Christmas is coming) will alert you to the fascinating calls. Meanwhile read from my favourite website Warwickshire Bat Group
