| | | Re: Wildlife happy days The increase in raptors is very encouraging, I would assume this also means the particular prey species of each raptor is thriving in terms of numbers.
I live in North Ayrshire and get a real lift when out and about, I'm always on the lookout for wildlife , ( mostly birds) and I'm rarely disappointed .
On a purely personal level I get the thrill of seeing Barn Owls regularly . I work shifts and come home at different times. Long may it continue ! |

What a refreshing and realistic viewpoint from a, a, a Pigeon lover.
That's made my wildlife happy day.

| | | Re: Wildlife happy days 'My' bird ringer achieved his target of processing over 1,000 birds in our farm stackyard this year, and that was just Feb-Mar and then 29 Oct - 31 Dec. 722 ringed, 289 re-traps.
We manage our 300 acres for wildlife with the help of Higher Level Stewardship and have recorded 96 species of birds, have an SSSI, 7 Local Wildlife Sites, 4 Leics/Rutland red book flora...barn owls, great crested newts, mutliple bat species, ... and a herd of high yielding Holstein cows - who says modern farming and conservation can't co-exist?
PS husband has just come downstairs and reported he has just let a bat out of the bedroom (probably a brown long-eared) - we have had several active in the last week, a sign of the mild weather, luckily we have also seen plenty of midges/moths for them....
