I watched BBC 2 Autumnwatch last week and mention was made during the Badger Cam discussion that badgers rarely sleep above ground.
The badgers I monitor must feel very safe because they are always sleeping above ground.
Recently I fixed my Spypoint Stealthcam to a branch with a Joby Gorillapod, so that the camera was looking downwards.
A badger, who had just emerged from his sett at about 8.30 pm, sauntered over and promptly fell asleep under the stealth cam. Another badger must have picked up the scent of foody smells from my hands when I fixed the camera, and he began climbing the tree. 
It's amazing to watch their antics and social interaction, grooming and scratching each other.

Lol do we have evidence of narcalepsey in Badgers now? Poor fella must of had a busy day sleeping

Brilliant video!! I didn't know badgers could climb trees either so learnt something new too - thanks for sharing
